A new Chapter was opened for the Missionary Sisters of Mary Help of Christians when the Little Flower Region gave birth to the twin provinces: Mary Immaculate, Kolkata and Little Flower, Bangalore. It had 64 members and 12 communities spread across eight dioceses: Kolkata, Jalpaiguri and Darjeeling in West Bengal, Dumka, Khunti and Ranchi in Jharkhand, Bhagalpur in Bihar and Vijayapuram in Kerala. Proclamation of the Good News as its main thrust the province carried out its various apostolate, trusting in the power of the Lord. It initiated various activities with limited resources and personnel.
